Distance: 8.5 Km - elevation Difference:300 m asc + 600m desc - Duration: 4 hours - Difficulty: medium

This route is located in the Famara massif in the northern part of the island. This zone is one of the oldest geological areas of Lanzarote where it´s situated also the highest point Peñas del Chache (670 m). This itinerary is really spectacular during the months when it rains, in fact we carry it out from november to april, because one can see the most variety of flora with a large number of endemic species. ( Flora´s photo gallery).

This walk starts in Haria, a beautiful white town sorrounded by more than a 1000 canarian palm trees, to carry on ascending through the Ravine of Tenesía to lead us to the summit of Lanzarote “Las Peñas del Chache”where we stop for picnic among pine trees and wild olive trees with impresive sights of Famara Cliffs and the islets (Chinijo Archipelago). During the ascending one can enjoy with the view of smooth gorges, cropped fields and a fantastic flora. After picnic the way begins to descend through Barranco de la Paja (La Paja gorge) to reach finally the amazing Playa Famara (Famara Beach) where the tour ends.
